Bakewell Derbyshire and the Peak District |

The historic market town of
Bakewell, built around the river Wye is situated in the centre of the
Peak District National Park, it is known as the capitol of the Peak. |

The Rutland Arms, Jane Austin reputedly stayed here while writing her book Pride and Prejudice but the main claim to fame in 1859 the Bakewell pudding was invented by a chef who made a mistake with the recipe. |

There are several places in Bakewell making and selling the Bakewell pudding and more than one claim to have the original recipe. |
