Monsal Dale located in the Wye Valley attracts thousands of visitors throughout the year, the impressive viaduct was built in the 1860's and once carried the Midland Railway line. The line was closed in the 1960's and is now part of the Monsal Trail.

 is a large pay and display car park.

 

Monsal Dale

 

At the bottom of the dale a small bridge crosses the river Wye

 

 
 

 
 

A short walk from the viaduct is the Weir

 

The River Wye turns from a gentle flow into a torrent at the weir
