Nostell Priory
Yorkshire

Nostell Priory is a fine example of an 18th century country house, the house was commissioned in 1733 by Sir Rowland Winn who employed James Paine who worked on the house for nearly 30 years, in 1760 Robert Adam began work to finish the house and its interiors. The house takes its name from the 12th century Augustinian Priory which was handed over to the crown during the reign of Henry VIII and was sold into private hands to be used as a manor house.
Nostell Priory is cared for by the National Trust
