Rufford Abbey, the first Abbey was built around 1147

Looking through the old doors to the long drive that
used to be the main entrance to Rufford.

The 12th century Frater at the back of the Abbey has an exhibition giving an insight into the day to day lives of the Cistercian Monks that lived and worked there.

The Orangery was originally an open air bath house built by
Sir George Savile the 7th Baronet in 1729.

There are a number of the Savile's pet animals buried at Rufford, this one belongs to Cremorne, a successful race horse who won the Derby in 1872.

Looking across the lake to Rufford Mill, at the back is a lakeside garden shop, outdoor living store, information and toilets.
