Thoresby Park is situated in an area in Nottinghamshire known as the Dukeries, from the 17th century, Thoresby being originally owned by the Dukes of Kingston and the adjoining properties of Clumber owned by the Dukes of Newcastle and Welbeck owned by the Dukes of Portland.
Today Thoresby Park is a well known venue for the Sunday market, usually from March till December, the Hall is now a luxury hotel.

Entering the courtyard, open from 9am to 5pm and parking is free.

 

The statue of Robin Hood by Tussaud-Birt a grandson of Madame Tussaud.

 

The courtyard is home to a cafe, gift shop, craft shop, a gallery and other interesting things to see.

Leaving the courtyard behind, close to the Hall are Lilac trees

Another bridge across the river leads back to the Hall

 

The river flows from Thoresby Lake fed by the river Meden and eventually re-joins the river Meden and river Maun.

The building is round and in the middle are more plants

 

Beautifully crafted items for the garden

 

Horse driving event, there are many events at Thoresby throughout the year
