St. Williams College, College Street

 

  At the back of the Minster, the medieval wall you can see is a war memorial
unveiled by the Queen Mother to the 2nd Division on 24th June 1987.

  The pulpitum divides the Choir from the rest of the Minster.

 

 

 

Near this place Constantine the Great 274-337,
was proclaimed Roman Emperor in 306.

One of the medieval gates in York is Micklegate Bar,
the gateway provides access to the city walls.
Once used to display the severed heads of traitors.
